How do I make a series of Zinc chloride dilutions without precipitation?

I would like to make 1um, 10 uM, 100uM, 500 uM and 1mM Zinc chloride solutions at around 7.4 pH all in ACSF (artificial cerebrospinal fluid) buffer. The higher concentration solutions always result in precipitation. Is there any way I can overcome this? Thanks!!

Solubility product for Zn(OH)2 = 1.2 x 10-17 [1]
You should be able to work out the maximum solubility of [Zn2+] at pH =7.4 (OH- = 2.5×10^-7): it won’t be much! If you’re committed to a pH of 7.4 (as I think you are) then there is no way around the problem. If you could lower the pH somewhat, more Zn^2+ will dissolve.

We are going to move to Tennessee, eastern area. What is the weather like. Do you get alot of sunshine.?

We are planning on moving from Florida to Tennessee. I suffer from Seasonal Mood Disorder if I don’t get enough sunshine. We are thinking of the easter area of TN, near the NC border and not too far from Knoxville. What is the weather like year round. I know it gets fairly cold in the winter, but do you get alot of snow, grey days etc.

East Tennessee has a good share of sunlight. We do get a few rainy days however. The temperature usually can get to the 90’s in the summer and around ~30-40 in the winter (Fahrenheit). We get probably 2-3 snow days in the wintertime… but it really depends if you’re going to live in the higher elevations. They tend to get more snow.

I think you’ll love the area. If you want to soak up sunshine, East Tennessee has a lot of outdoor fun to enjoy.

what the average weather in saint john,nb canada for start of may??? cheers?

travelin over fromm scotland and were touring from toronto to saint john, new brunswick….any help is greatly appreciated

It is a very difficult time of year to predict, but spring will definitely have arrived. Be prepared for some rain, as well as for cool evenings. You will most likely need long pants most of the time rather than shorts, but it would not be unheard of to need summer clothes some of the time in that area in May. Mostly think light clothes, layers, something for wet weather, and something to accommodate the possible hot day. Best of luck and enjoy your trip.

How does weather affect birds and birds singing?

Do they sing less or more in certain weather situations? If the weather is very hot like in the desert, do they sing a lot? If the weather is very cold most of the year, are only few birds singing? Wind and rain?

Research has found that birds sing more in colder weather and rainy weather. It’s believed that they are more vocal because they have try harder to attract a mate in this kind of weather.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/5362862/Birds-are-better-at-singing-in-the-rain—and-the-cold.html

In addition, where canaries are concerned, they will stop singing if there are any warm or cold drafts. The area a canary is housed in must be free of drafts.

What is the climate of the Freshwater biome (average temperature and precipitation)?

I need to know the average temperature and precipitation of freshwater biomes for a school project. I already have the temperature for ponds and lakes, but I don’t have any other temperature information and I have no precipitation information.

Thanks!

Streams and Rivers

The temperature is cooler at the source than it is at the mouth

Ponds and Lakes

Temperature varies in ponds and lakes seasonally. During the summer, the temperature can range from 4° C near the bottom to 22° C at the top. During the winter, the temperature at the bottom can be 4° C while the top is 0° C (ice). In between the two layers, there is a narrow zone called the thermocline where the temperature of the water changes rapidly. During the spring and fall seasons, there is a mixing of the top and bottom layers, usually due to winds, which results in a uniform water temperature of around 4° C. This mixing also circulates oxygen throughout the lake. Of course there are many lakes and ponds that do not freeze during the winter, thus the top layer would be a little warmer.

wetlands

Temperatures vary greatly depending on the location of the wetland. Many of the world’s wetlands are in temperate zones (midway between the North and South Poles and the equator). In these zones, summers are warm and winters are cold, but temperatures are not extreme. However, wetlands found in the tropic zone, which is around the equator, are always warm. Temperatures in wetlands on the Arabian Peninsula, for example, can reach 122°F (50°C). In northeastern Siberia, which has a polar climate, wetland temperatures can be as cold as -60°F (-5l °C).The amount of rainfall a wetland receives depends upon its location. Wetlands in Wales, Scotland, and western Ireland receive about 59 inches (150 centimeters) per year. Those in Southeast Asia, where heavy rains occur, can receive up to 200 inches (500 centimeters). In the northern areas of North America, wetlands exist where as little as 6 inches (15 centimeters) of rain fall each year.

What is the lowest temperature setting on a hair straightener?

I am looking to buy a new ceramic hair straightener. I have very thin and damaged hair and need a straightener with a very low temperature setting. How low of a temperature do straighteners go to? And what brand has the lowest temperature?

All hair straighteners have different setting levels. Most though have a lowest setting of 1 or 2. Any straightener you get should be fine!

What is the best way to look up temperatures and cost of living for each state?

My grandmother and I are thinking of moving to a different state and we are trying to find out the cost of living and what the temperatures are from month to month(my grandmother has heatlh issues). Please help!!

I’m not sure about temperatures, but here is a cost of living calculator that you can use to check the cost of living in different states: http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-calculator.aspx It breaks down expenses such as food, housing, transportation and health care to give you a better idea of how much it will cost for you to live in a given area. For instance, I looked up Orlando, Florida and found that the cost of housing there is 4% above the national average: http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-calculator.aspx?to=Florida_Orlando You can also compare the cost of living in one city to that in another, and look up median salaries for different job titles in each city.

Hope that helps,

Does relative humidity affect the amount of rainfall in a location?

The specific location is Seattle, WA if that helps at all.
I was thinking that maybe relative humidity would have a correlation between the amount of rainfall because relative humidity usually plays a role in the formation of clouds, which affects the rainfall in a major way.

Let me know your own thoughts and if you have any explanations about why you came to your decision.

Well yes you are right. If you have very low humidity, you don’t have clouds or very few. If you don’t have clouds, you have no rain. I remember forecasters one time forecasting rain and they had 5-15% RH at 850,700 and 500mb and I told them you can’t have rain or clouds for that matter.. so yes, you are right.
