What temperature is best to kill white spot in african cichlids? and for how long at that temperature?
One of our fish has white spot, what temperature is best and for how long?
I’m inclined to agree with John E. I think that raising the temp does help, but the medication itself is what is going to do the work. White spots could as well be a fungus, but generally sounds like it’s ick, without pics though, who knows. If you combine medication with higher temps, and I’d go with about 83-85, you should see that killed off much faster.

First, quarantine the fish.
80 degrees Farenheit will usually kill ich and not harm African cichlids. They will even thrive at that and slightly higher temps.

raising the tempurature isn’t really effective without a medication in the water. they all work about the same. raising the temperature speeds up the life cycle so that the medication can kill the parasites.
just raising the temp without meds means your spreading the disease to your other fish that much faster

You need to treat the entire tank with an Ich medication!!
